Your credit card is not very anonymous, but -- unless you give Paypal your personal details -- PayPal does not know who you are or where you live. Its a good thing to feed these corporate-privately-owned computers with bogus data, it keeps them honest and humane. The downside is that you have to remember your white lies. If Paypal detects the same credit card number being entered with different data, they may not accept your card the next time. They remember everything. They store everything. They think they are entitled to your information. Of course they claim to do it to prevent fraud, but fact is that there is very little fraud and lots of users to spy on. So, you think the government must collect data on us 
to keep us all safe?  I think our elected government 
doesn't actually want to spy on us. The government is 
elected by us, and we all cooperate over time. 
Its our nature! Bad things happen, even under total surveillance.

But the absentee landlord, the multiple-owners 
of this world must collect data to preempt democracy 
and redistribution of ownership and wealth. The
real power is unseen, unaccountable and - of course - unelected.
