Personalised Edition:

Should I make a special edition for your location, you can have your logo/info-text on the back-cover of the diary! If you can email it to me.. (and the zipped file is smaller than say 100k), just go ahead .. If you have a WWW site, I could get it from there.

You can even have localised entries in the "daily-body-text" of the diary. For example if you have any public events ... just email them to me in the following format:

date    _  max. 62 characters of text.... for example:
19981225_Christmas function in the Observatory 20h -- bring binoculars!
yyyymmdd_12345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012
Some useful blather concerning (the selling of) the diary.

My diary is a kind of specialist item, and as such finds some really ardent fans.. Many people (not acquainted with astronomy) feel that the diary is to complicated for them ... they often (incorrectly) say that they are too dumb to understand it..  This, of course, has more to do with their unwillingness to read two pages of instructions... but what can I do ... One day I will produce an instructional video ... and  make a comprehensive "explanations" www-page.

Why I am mentioning this?  Well, indeed, I am no good at marketing... but the real reason is that I rather have you buying my diary every year in (very) small quantities .. than you being disappointed with having many left-overs. Lest I recommend that you order half your intended quantity at first, and see how it goes. I can very quickly supply another lot... just email!

When I show people the "flip-book" animation of the solar system (and the more obscure but very interesting flip-book animation of the horizon-starmaps) they very quickly perceive some of the fascination of astronomy.

APD Do it Yourself ...
what you need to know if you consider being an AGENT for the APD

The following is an older text, but still contains some useful info:
Additional information.
Precision of data
The astronomical data has the same precision as the standard from the Naval Observatory in Washington D.C. The times and angles will not be precise for other locations or time-zones. But a multitude of editions are made specially for a location, time-zone and language ... and we hope you appreciate the enormous work with it! Many editions are produced and therefore most fit the location fair enough, but it may be that some calendars contain a supplement with all the precise data for the location.
Handling
The diaries are made to last the distance. Our binding is all done by hand and definitively the strongest. Diaries should be stored between two heavy objects, so that they are flattened and their tendency to open themselves is lessened.
Other Editions
There are a multitude of editions in many different languages. Please enquire, should you want a current list. Resellers may offer any edition for sale. For instance in bi-lingual areas you may want two different language versions on sale.
Future Enhancements
More editions, colour, higher print quality, more data, more languages.
Communication
Please communicate. Email ensures a prompt reply, but ALL ENQUIRIES are immediately attended too. Sometimes however the (smail-) mail gets lost or delayed. Should you not hear from us in time, please just send another short message.
If you intend to order a small quantity for every year, please tell us because in this case you will have preferential treatment. The world is a changing place. In the moment Norbert (the `man' for the diary) is travelling backwards and forwards between New Zealand and Europe. From April to December he is Europe, then back in New Zealand (godzone). Mail should always reach him at his permanent mail address.
